On Monday April 24, the Pacific Pines Primary students, teachers, parents, friends and special guests gathered for an Anzac Day service in the school Hall.
The School Leaders Emi, Denis, Milla and Oscar led the service to commemorate the ultimate sacrifice many men and women made fighting for the freedoms that we all enjoy today.
Throughout the service, the audience enjoyed musical numbers from the Pacific Pines Senior Choir - led by Miss Williams, the Trumpet Quartet performed ‘The Last Post’ and ‘Rouse’ and Mr Nielsen played the bagpipes. These live performances were a wonderful representation of the hugely talented students at Pacific Pines Primary.
A representative from the Nerang RSL Sub Branch- Mr Polland then addressed the audience and shared an insight into what it was like for service men and women whom fought in the wars and rightfully hoped that Australia will never have to go to fight in any wars like they had to previously.
A number of students were presented with badges to represent soldiers who died during World War One. These soldiers had a connection to the North Gold Coast area and the students were very honoured to be able to recognise these fallen soldiers.
Each class created wreaths to honour the tradition of laying flowers on graves and memorials in memory of the soldiers who lost their lives.  It was very humbling to see all of the students taking such a keen interest in the history surrounding the ANZAC’s.
Thank-you to everybody who attended and were involved in commemorating this important event.
